the people behind the business

The People Behind the Business format gives audiences evidence they can see, people they can believe and

a story they will remember.

Businesses often describe themselves through services, products and technical claims. Yet audiences - customers, clients, recruits and the wider public - are more likely to understand and remember what a company does when they meet the people who make it happen.

Our People Behind the Business format turns complex organisations, industries and propositions into human stories with a clear strategic purpose.

Boost authority and authenticity

The approach combines documentary authenticity with campaign discipline.

We find the characters, workplaces and revealing details that bring an organisation to life, then build a narrative around real voices and real activity. The result is a credible, emotionally engaging proof of expertise, culture and impact. All of which is delivered in a multi-asset film campaign designed to generate useful content for websites, presentations and social channels.

Our advisory team starts with investigation: sharpening the story, looking for missed narrative potential,  identifying the strongest contributors, uncovering the tension or ambition in their work and securing the access required to film it honestly. This makes campaigns informative without feeling instructional - sophisticated without losing the spontaneity that gives documentary storytelling its authority.

Make complex expertise easy to understand

For Airbus, Spacecraft: Made in the UK revealed the extraordinary manufacturing network behind Britain’s space sector. Hundreds of SMEs support spacecraft production, but their contribution is largely invisible. Our 16-minute investigative documentary travelled the country, moving from cog makers and specialist engineers to woven fabrics, microscopic components and propulsion thrusters.

Exclusive access to Airbus, Oxford Space Systems and other facilities transformed a broad industrial story into a close-up portrait of the people whose precision helps us explore the cosmos. A 60-second teaser and nine social edits extended the film into a complete campaign.

Shooting for the Stars applied the same principle to the UK’s growing space economy. Across six weeks, we identified and followed three start-ups selected for Airbus Defence and Space’s accelerator programme. Their ambitions ranged from manufacturing cancer drugs in zero gravity to democratising space travel. Long-form observation allowed audiences to understand both the technologies and the founders’ personal drive, while a trailer and eight cutdowns created 11 deliverables from one production.

Build trust, attract talent and give clients a reason to choose you

For Oxford Space Systems, people were central to a different challenge: expressing the elegance of its engineering and its hands-on culture while supporting rapid growth. Round tables and script development helped us draw brand messages from employees in their own words. A small, flexible crew captured the full spectrum of roles without disrupting a live scientific environment. The resulting 20 assets included brand and website films, eight cutdowns and two social formats. Most importantly, OSS achieved its recruitment goal, growing its team from 75 to more than 180.

The format works beyond technically complex businesses. For Winchester White, we translated a lettings proposition into the recognisable life of a busy landlord and their family. A scripted documentary, developed with a real family, connected the service to the time and moments it helps protect. The hero film, six interviews and 25 social assets formed an evergreen campaign for the company’s new website.

Turn one production into a complete, long-lasting content campaign

With London Makes, we celebrated six of the capital’s 4,000-plus manufacturers, revealing world-class craft hidden behind ordinary streets—from stone carving and metalwork to scenery and brewing.

Across these projects, we have created more than 70 individual assets from four core productions, alongside the London Makes campaign. That efficiency matters: one well-planned shoot can supply a sustained content pipeline without sacrificing quality or consistency. More importantly, the work has made specialist sectors accessible, given businesses a distinctive human voice, supported recruitment and created long-lasting campaign value.
